This was our first trip of the week with Melad, who was on time and immediately warm, friendly and welcoming. Melad's style was relaxed but very accommodating and flexible, arranging extra activities including a camel ride and Sheesha on bannana island. We had a fantastic first trip and a lot of fun and insight into local life on the west bank.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you very much dear Sarah and Andy. I'm glad you had that impression about me from the first moment. You also were so wonderful person and friendly and thank you for you the chocolates, family enjoyed them.

This was a good trip, very relaxing. In the end it was a motorboat trip to Banana Island because there was no wind whatsoever so all the feluccas were just stuck in the middle of the Nile not going anywhere. Melad made alternative arrangements and got us to the island. He also suggested a horse drawn carriage ride to follow on and that was a great idea as we watched the sunset on the Nile from our boat and it got gradually dark while we were on the carriage. A perfect afternoon.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Sailing to the Banana Island, its a great fun and its giving you a great chance to see the local life after a big meal of visiting many of Luxor monuments. I'm happy that you and your husband enjoyed it too.

Because there was not enough wind we did not have a Felucca Sail boat ride...but Melad arranged for another boat. Worked out great. Visiting the Banana Plantation by boat was fun. Following he suggested we Luxor at night which was beautiful. Another great day.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks for your great comments!

Having been on 2 historical tours with Melad, this informal outing to Banana Island across the exotic Nile was magical. Punctual as ever, Melad had a boat ready close to our hotel with an excellent 'captain' who took us to a plantation on the island where we sampled the bananas and sugar cane, breathed-in the atmosphere and sampled real life on the banks of the Nile. Highly recommended
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: A Banana Island trip is a must do activity while you are in Luxor! It adds to your cultural tour of the monuments; the experience and taste of local life. Really I'm glad that you had that experience with me, and i enjoyed the very relaxing time we spent together on the Island. Thanks for sending me the photo we had together on the Island.

A felucca trip on the Nile is a must do activity when staying in Luxor. You can obviously arrange and haggle for a felucca ride yourself, but using Melad to arrange this, took out the hassle and ensured we had a reliable crew. The trip provides a tranquil respite from the hustle and bustle of Luxor and its tourist hot spots. I'd suggest trying to time this towards dusk and to arrive back to your hotel if you're staying on one of those on the Nile banks.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks Mr. Philip. It was nice to meet you and your family in luxor. and to know that you enjoyed the Felucca sail boat in Luxor.
