Roger is an outstanding guide. He is knowledgeable of the history, locations, and area. He is pleasant and easy to approach. He enjoys discussions and is also open to learning from his attendees. We spent a great day with Roger and I highly recommend his services and this tour.

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Again, I had the opportunity to tour with guests that had such a great appreciation for history. I felt like we could be friends. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to work with you. I enjoyed it as much as you did.

My parents and I very much enjoyed our Civil War tour with Roger. Roger is very thoughtful and well-informed. Kennesaw Mountain was a particularly impressive attraction and we loved the southern food at Mary Mac's where we went for lunch. Roger braved some very daunting Atlanta traffic, driving safely all the while. He was a pleasure to spend time with.

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you very much Mr. Keating, I really enjoyed touring with you and your parents. I enjoy touring with people that have a real appreciation for our history. Thank you for your insight on the previous tours you’ve taken with Backroads. It was very helpful. Roger P.

Highly intelligent & articulate local tour by Roger, who provided great company and insight into the culture, history and zeitgeist of both Atlanta and the USA writ large. We had a great day - awesome, and very highly recommended.

My husband and myself were both delighted with a very well constructed, informative tour by Roger. He was engaging, and we appreciated his knowledge of the Atlanta. Our focus was Civil War history, but he had a very broad base of knowledge of many other issues impacting the American South. We spent two enjoyable and interesting days with him, and have highly recommended him to our New Zealand travel agent. Definitely a 5 star experience.

He was professional, knowledgeable, a joy to be with and we all like the tour and especially enjoyed Mary Mac's Cafe for lunch. We would request Roger again.

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you Mr. Lucks, I enjoyed you guys too. Mary Mac's was a highlight and if I ever go to Milwaukee I'm going to stop in at the Honey Pie Cafe...

What an enjoyable experience! Roger took me to all the Gone with the Wind sites I wanted to see and added some really neat sites along the way. He is very knowlegable and enthusiastically shares his love of history. Roger picked me up on time from the airport and dropped me at my choice hotel as our final destination. Having an educated tour guide makes for a great day.

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: I can't thank you enough for stretching me as tour operator and helping me in adding another tour to our portfolio tours. I had a lot of fun with you on tour and its always a pleasure touring with someone that has a love of history as you do. Thank you for a great tour. Roger P.

Roger did an excellent job. He has a personal insight into the history and culture of Atlanta that made the tour a very enjoyable learning experience. We requested a short stop at the MLK historic site (not on the normal program for this tour) and Roger was happy to add this. The lunch stop at Mary Mac's (southern cooking) was wonderful.
