Tate is incredibly knowledgeable about Barcelona and her intimate understanding of the town made our tour that more interesting. United StatesTate C. gave us a fabulous introduction to Old Town Barcelona. She was very responsive to my messages prior to our tour and she was delightful during our tour. My only negative about this tour was that it was much shorter then originally booked due to our flight being a little late and then we had some transportation issues getting to Tate. I wish that TBL had not booked something else for her so close to our tour so we could have had more time with Tate. She is very knowledgeable about Spain.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: I am glad you enjoyed our walking tour despite all the hassle you suffered due: to the crying baby on the plane from NY... the delay in the arrival... your lost luggage... and the taxi that did never showed up in the airport... You are 2 brave women! After all those inconvenients, going ahead with a long walk, encouraging your sweet but strong mother in law impressed me sooo much! That is the resilience factor: finding your inner strength and overcoming the travelling hurdles.

United StatesTate is absolutely wonderful - we were so lucky to have her as our guide. First off as an academic and author of books about Gaudi, substantively it seems almost impossible to find someone with more in depth knowledge. It was like taking a field trip with a college class, the level of information, which was thrilling to us as adults. And, as to out three kids (ages 4-12) she scaled the info perfectly for them. On top of substance, Tate is just a really great person - friendly, well spoken, funny. A+

I loved the sense of unity you shared and at the same the freedom of movements of each different member, Jordan on its own taking pictures, the girls drawing, taking notes, maggie taking care of all the details, cookies, water, wipes... the granny struggling not to lose track of anything... You are wonderful!!

United StatesWe had an absolutely incredible walking tour of Old Town Barcelona. Tate is a fantastic, super well informed guide who knew the history of the area in great detail. She talked to us, ascertained our interests and focused the tour on the parts we were most desiring to see. She was incredibly accommodating in terms of our group which had our elderly Mom and our three young girls. Just a wonderful guide! Highly recommended.

United StatesBEST TOUR GUIDE EVER... Tate was exceptionally knowledgeable about history, geography, culture, current events and all things pertaining to Barcelona! She was fun to be with and was very accommodating. There were 7 of us and 2 languages to be considered and she was excellent! If we ever come back to Barcelona, we will absolutely be asking for Tate. We were also so pleased with our driver Pedro. They were both completely aware of our needs and were right there to help. An exceptional experience!

Not only does she have much experience and endless knowledge about the places we saw and the current cultural and political climate in Barcelona, but there also wasn't a question we asked that she couldn't answer. She's a wonderful ambassador of this great city. In addition to being knowledgeable, she was flexible, responsive, and so easy to be with. She even took us around by foot for an extra hour to be sure we saw everything that interested us! She's terrific!

IndonesiaWe chose this program because we were 'intrigued' by Tate's credentials and we made the RIGHT choice !! Tate is very knowledgable about Gaudi's work and she wrote several articles about them. We ended up spent 2.5 hours (vs original schedule of 2 hours) as Tate enthusiastically explained all the intricate details on every part of Sagrada Familia. It's an 'eye opening' experience and felt like having a 'short class' on Gaudi's work. Thanks a lot Tate for such a wonderful and memorable time ...

United StatesTate was just a fantastic all-around guide. She taught us the history and culture of the old town and Jewish quarter with interest and sympathy. She introduced us to churros and thick chocolate and pinchtroxs (just ask her!). My 10 and 12 year old enjoyed her tour as much as I did. We've had a number of guides in the last year and a half, and I don't think you could go wrong with Tate. Thank you Tate.

You have a second chance in Madrid to pratice and eat up the pintxos :-) Your family is wonderful, walking around with 2 kids with jetlag the day after the end of their school was a challenge! for you and myself! but after the thick chocolate they cheered up wonderfully, and did not stop asking very intelligent questions. United StatesSadly, our time with Tate was short as an airline delay cut our scheduled 4 hour tour of Barcelona with her to only 1 1/2 hours. We did manage to pack a lot into that time and so enjoyed the time we spent together. Tate is so engaging, knowledgeable and energetic that we felt we missed so much of what Barcelona had to offer due to our shortened tour. It makes us want to return and finish her tour!

She is an accomplished writer and historian, with a terrific sense of humor. It was well worth hiring a private driver because we maximized our time with Tate and were able to do and see more.
