Sergei gave us the tour we asked for - which was mostly out in the countryside and a driving overview of the city. Saw some things that most group tours would not see. Sergei is very knowledgeable about the country, the politics, and the economy and gave us a great background on the Estonia and the relationship with Russia.
We had an all day tour from Tallinn to Rīga. Sergei was friendly and extremely well informed. Never failingly cheery and kept up an amiable conversation about the complex cultural, enviromental and political history of the area. We would highly recommend him.

Sergei was very knowledgeable about Estonia and we learned a lot. We had a large party (9) with varying ages from child to young adult to adult to seniors and he accommodated everyone's needs. My favorite stop was the the little castle in the country. We loved the restaurant he recommended for lunch.

We learned a tremendous amount of information about Tallinn and Estonia. Sergei was knowledgeable and we did have the opportunity to see the old town as well as area not typically on tours. We enjoyed the tour but I do think it was pricey
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you very much for your feedback. I've also spent a very interesting day with you. The tour you've chosen is the longest shore excursion that I have and therefore it is more expensive than my other tours, but at the same time it is very flexible and gives the best overview of the lives of local people, culture, and traditions.

Sergei was a nice guide. We were disappointed in some of the stops along the countryside - the Soviet prison we were supposed to see was not actually something we could go into, the 'waterfall' a letdown, and the lighthouse charges 5 EU per person to walk up and down. With that being said, the monastery and old church were completely worth seeing. We also enjoyed Tallinn and the sights there. If we had the luxury of planning with hindsight, we would stick to the Old City and the monastery.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: We've been in favorite places outside Tallinn and the tour was adjusted in acc. to your wishes. It was possible to get to the prison's territory (not inside buildings) but we've decided together that we will skip it and save time for Old Town. The Lighthouse at the cliff only charge the strongest who want to climb 270 steps to the very top, thats why I don't include this tickets to the price of the tour. This tour is full of interesting adventures and I'm glad you appreciated that

Excellent overview of the history of Estonia and Tallinn. His observations of the present too were quite interesting. He did a spot on job of tying the past and present together in a compact 2 hour tour with lots of walking and great sites to see.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you Randi, it was my pleasure
We were a group of 14 and spent a lovely day with Sergei. Our tour included a visit to the countryside as well as the lovely town.

Sergei did a wonderful job adjusting the tour based on changes in timing and our input on interests. He know Tallin and Estonian history very well, and was able to answer all kinds of curious questions we had. This tour with his commentary was a great view of the old, the Soviet era, and today's modern city.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you Adrienne :)

Sergei was a terrific guide for our stop in Tallinn, he was on time when we arrived. We first drove to the TV tower for some history of Estonia to keep its independence from RU and some great photo stops along the coast on way back. on to Upper Tallinn behind the castle for starting the walking part of history along the mid-evil structures. Sergei was very informative of the history of his city and was a big help, getting our bearings, we could shop an easily get back to port. I Highly Recommend Sergei !!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you Steven

We hired four different Tours by Locals guides during our week in the Baltic countries, and we felt that Sergei was the best. We spent a day and a half with him, and he met our needs extremely well. He drove us from Riga to Tallinn, with several interesting rural stops along the way. The next day it was raining, but he gave us a great tour by car of the countryside west of Tallinn. Sergei was friendly, patient, punctual, an excellent driver, knowledgeable, and informative in an understandable way.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you Dave and Dick. It was very interesting trip for me also. Hope to see you again in Estonia or Nevada :)

Sergei K met us at the ship, with van and driver. We visited Kadriorg park and Presidential Palace, Song Festival grounds, Olympic village, TV tower, Jagala Waterfall, a 500 year old four story tower on a former Soviet collective farm, then to old town with Alexander Nevski Cathedral, Talinn castle, Dome Cathedral, viewing platforms, lunch at a local restaurant, lower town with market square, town hall, and medieval merchants' houses. This was a great tour, with comments on Soviet era. Don't miss!

Sergei did a wonderful job with our tour. We especially enjoyed seeing some of the countryside. He made a special stop to let us view a stork's nest. We especially enjoyed the Jaegala Falls and the Kiiu Tower with its special liqueor. Sergei was extremely knowledgeable about the old town and its history. I would highly recommend this tour and Sergei as your guide. He also made arrangements for transfers to and from the airport. Our first experience with TbyL but we have recommended it to many.
