With 5000 hrs as a commercial helicopter pilot, 3000 boarding passes from my other travels, a BCom, a Masters in Public Administration, a Diploma in Sociology and a Tour Guide Diploma, my commentary discounts the typical streaming of historical facts in favour of penetrating socio-economic and geo-political links between, people, places and events.
Using your reality/questions as a colour pallet, I will paint a unique portrait of Québec City's 500 years of history, architecture, culture and its strategic role in the history of mid-western America.
Whatever your choice, the tour will be relaxed, fun and interesting.
- my tours are supported by an electronic communications system;
- walking tours can be converted to car tours;
- sorry I can not offer a charming French accent - the best I can do is a hint of Canadian;
- en français mon accent est nettement canadien, mais pas anglais.
After your tour, if you wish, I can tell you about crashing a helicopter, being hijacked at gun point and surviving the impossible (vestibular somatogyral illusion killed John Kennedy jr. but not me); the only thing it will cost you for tales from my flying days is the price of a well oiled diner.
A Recent Review of this guide
Because we were recently in Quebec City in full winter weather with very cold temperatures, I was concerned about spending a day going out to the the Basilica all the while not being able to "enjoy" the Falls (partially frozen) or the natural beauty of the Isle Orleans.... Anyway, Brian proved to be a highly knowledgeable and committed guide, and he adjusted the scheduling in such a way that the day was very well spent. We'd happily do another tour with him in the future.
