Go where the locals go in Washington, D.C.!

This scenic walking tour takes in the buzzing, historic communities of Adams Morgan and U. Street, including a wide range of elegant, whimsical, traditional and modern architecture. We'll also cross the Duke Ellington Bridge and visit some of the quieter streets lined with brownstones, old churches, historic sites, and attractive plazas and parks, including Malcolm X (a. k. a. Meridan Hill) Park, with its prominent sculptures and enormous cascading fountain. We also pass by some lesser known memorials, local boutiques and dozens of fabulous murals.

The 3-hour tour begins at the Woodley Park Metro Station and ends the Shaw-Howard University Metro Station. You can also opt to end the walk near the U. Street Metro where you can browse the shops afterward or linger at one of the many cafes and coffee shops nearby. Or, if you prefer, I can accompany you on the easy return to Woodley Park or to downtown D. C. Feel free to ask for insider tips for local dining, hanging out or cooling off in warmer weather.
