Join us on a day trip to the Mexican state of Puebla where we'll visit Cholula and downtown Puebla, just two hours away from Mexico City.
The highway among the mountains has great landscapes and breathtaking views of the Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl volcanoes; Cholula is famous for its hundreds of churches, the most impressive Santa María Tonanzintla built at the top of a great pyramid.
Puebla is popularly known as the "City of Angels", where we'll take a walking tour through the beautiful historic center to admire the Main Square, the Cathedral, the Rosary Chapel, a breathtaking library and many buildings from the XVI to the XIX centuries; after lunch we'll enjoy the arts & crafts market full of the most beautiful and traditional art of central Mexico and traditional candies.
6:00 Pick up at the motor lobby of your hotel.
8:00 Arrival to Cholula, time for coffee and snacks before we begin our walking tour.
8:45 Visit to the tunnels of the pyramid and the archaeological site.
9:30 Santa María Tonanzintla Church an impressive, indigenous- Baroque building, which stands out for its interiors decorated in gold leaf, as well as for the wealth of its elements.
11:00 Arrival to Puebla for a walking tour to admire the Cathedral, the Rosary Chapel, the Palafoxiana library and many other buildings from the XVI - XIX centuries.
14:00 Lunch at a traditional eatery where we can choose from a simple and traditional "semita" or the exquisite "mole poblano" among other local delicacies!
15:00 Visit to the arts & crafts market and free time for shopping or take pictures.
17:00 Return to your hotel.
