Discover the well-hidden secrets of the city with a private guide
Old Quebec is a charming 400-year-old town nestled in the narrowing of the beautiful St-Lawrence River. During this tour, I will be more than happy to show you why Quebec City is regularly ranked among the world's top destinations.
This UNESCO World Heritage site has a lot to offer, from old winding streets to trendy local restaurants, from traditional French architecture to proudly standing monuments. Needless to say, the best way to discover this fortified city is definitely by foot, following me through four centuries of history.
This tour is meant to show you all the well hidden secrets of the City alongside with places and neighbourhoods you might have missed without taking it.
This tour is meant to be adapted to your interests and pace. Our walk is planned according to your desire and I can be very flexible on the itinerary. Along the way, here are the well-hidden secrets I would like to show you taking the narrowest streets off the beaten-paths:
The Old Financial District, the Old Port and the very inspiring Farmer's Market
The vibrant and revitalized St-Roch district
St-Jean Street (outside the fortifications of Quebec) with its famous chocolate museum Erico, the best gelato place in town Tutto Gelato and one of the oldest grocery stores in the country J. A Moisan
The Fortifications with a view from the top for the more adventurous
The Seminary of Quebec interior courtyard and the first French speaking university in North America
Without forgetting the must-see attractions of Quebec such as the famous Chateau Frontenac and the Petit-Champlain area, where Quebec City was founded, if time permits.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: I will meet you at your hotel if it is located at a walkable distance of Old Quebec. Otherwise, we will make arrangements to meet somewhere easy to find for you. I can also meet you at the cruise ship terminal if you get to Quebec City by the St-Lawrence river.
End location: I will drop you off at the cruise ship terminal, your hotel, or where you would like in Old Quebec.
Duration: 2 hours 30 min.
This is a walking tour. Although Quebec is very hilly, the tour itself is a moderate walk with a few uphill hikes. You must be able to stand at some places for a few minutes.
My services as your personal tour guide and the public transportation back to the Upper town if walking uphill is a problem.
