Guided Tour - In the Heart of Montreal
Historic and visual Walking Guided Tour to discover the history of the city since the French's arrival on the island of Montreal in 1535, until today. The architecture details of Old Montreal will make us traveling to the time of New France, from the foundation in 1642 to its wars and colonial revolutions, including a short period of Montreal as an American city, and finally the arrival of the English and the Scots who made it a very prosperous city. Downtown Montreal, the former residential area for the bourgeoisie settled down in the middle of the 19th century, their old residences recall the life and splendour of their time. Visit of Sainte-Catherine St. , the department stores street (backbone of Montreal), the Financial District, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Art Galleries area, the heart of the Golden Square Mile, its squares and urban parks, its underground city which is the most important in the world. The tour will be both outdoors and indoors, using the underground city passageways.
