The Main Attractions on the South Coast including the Black Beach
Come and see the magnificent glacier and volcano Eyjafjallajokull. The volcano is famous for erupting in 2010 stopping all the air traffic between the US and Europe. We'll also pass ice cap Myrdalsjokull with volcano Katla still dormant beneath the ice. Mt Katla is one of the most interesting volcanoes in Iceland.
During the tour we take a walk towards glacier tongue Solheimajokull where you can see the glacier up close. Optional to take a short walk at extra price. Booking needed.
We drive to the village of Vik where you can have lunch. We also visit the famous black beach Reynisfjara with puffin flying around in summer. The beach is considered to be one of ten most beautiful beaches in the world.
Last but not least - we'll visit waterfall Seljalandsfoss where you can take the popular walk behind the waterfall. We will also take a break at waterfall Skogafoss.

Pick up at your hotel in Reykjavik, preferably at 8am. Driving for 1. 5 hours until restroom break. Enjpoying Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull glacier areas between 10-12. Arrival to village of Vik close to noon. Reynisfjara black beach at 1. 30pm. Skogafoss waterfall 3pm, Seljalandsfoss waterfall at 4pm. Departure for Reykjavik at 5pm.
If you like to take a walk to Solheimajokull glacier tongue (part of Myrdalsjokull) then please wear sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots, waterproof if possible. Please bring rain gear and warm clothes in winter.
If the weather is bad in the southern part of Iceland it might affect the tour, especially during winter/spring. It can be very cold close to the glacier.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: I pick you up at your hotel in Reykjavik centre.
End location: I drop you off as close to your hotel in Reykjavik centre as I am allowed to drive.
Duration: 10 hours
Duration of the tour is close to 10 hours. If the weather or other conditions gets bad during the tour it might affect the tour duration. Breaks at all the different places can affect the duration of the tour.
We drive to the farms closest to the glacier Eyjafjallajökull in the southern part of Iceland. We try to go as close to the ash-covered nature as possible. The vehicle is a convenient Ford E 350 Van 2012.
Pick-up in Reykjavik centre or according to our agreement, me guiding in my vehicle Ford Econoline van E350 or similar, fuel, use of microphone in the van so that everyone can enjoy the guidance, free wifi, DVD and headphones for two, luggage trailer if needed, VAT. Crampons for 4 persons during the tour if icy in twinter. Drop-off when we are back in Reykjavik.

6000 1USD=100ISK - Optional to take a break at Lava Centre. Entrance fee is extra ISK 3000 per person. Entrance fee to Eyjafjallajokull eruption documentary is extra ISK 900 per person. You might need some cash if you want to buy some refreshments on the way. Credit cards are always accepted in Iceland.
If you want to go for a short walk on the glacier then that's possible at extra price ISK 15,000 per person to be paid to the guide in the morning. The glacier walk needs to be booked beforehand since the guide needs to bring glacier equipment on the tour. The glacier walk is cancelled if conditions give a reason to, e.g. storm in the area, too foggy etc.
Entrance to Lava Centre (ISK 3000 per person). Entrance to Eyjafjallajokull visitor centre with documentary (ISK 900 per person). Other exhibitions and or museums on the drive if any. Food and drinks are also extra. Price examples: Cup of coffee is around ISK 450 per person, hot dog is around ISK 1000 per person, a bowl of soup during lunch-time is around ISK 2500 per person.
If you need to take your wheelchair or other special equipment with you then I might need to rent a special vehicle. Please let me know about this at the beginning of our communications.
