Haijun Z.

Shanghai, China

Hello, this is Haijun. I am a TOEFL/IELTS test-prep teacher and a Traditional Chinese Medicine student.

I have strong command of English and a deep understanding of Western culture, so our communication should be effective and comfortable.

Though not a licensed guide, I have accompanied visiting parents and siblings of my expat friends around the city in the last 5 years, and entertained both first-time tourists and veteran visitors. These experiences have enabled me to learn so much about this city and my companions, which, together with their feedback, gives me geat confidence in my abilities as a guide.

I provide private and customized tours with high quality interpretation that makes sense to Westerners, including shore excursions, day tour, and out-of-town tours. Whether you want to visit popular tourist attractions, or you are inclined to unconventional sites and unique activities, I have plenty options to suit your need. I hope my tours will be culturally enriching, physically undemanding, and entirely enjoyable.

As a frequent traveller myself, I understand the importance of good cafes and food for a trip. Don't worry, over the years, I have been to a lot of restaurants, bars, and cafes that appeal to expats and locals, either classy and modern, or rustic but authentic. So feel free to ask me for restaurant and hotel recommendations.

I am not a fan of tours that assemble strangers with various backgrounds under a guide, all bearing a unified hat or flag. It's a precarious situation. Recently, I had my first tour group experience in Hong Kong: the guide was nice but with a group of 9, it's hard to have a meaningful conversation with him, and it felt like we just rushed through the schedule: been there, done that, check check and next! And there was a woman who kept blurting out offensive remarks. With such an experience, I personally feel for those who are inclined to private tours. Therefore, my tours will be small, no strangers, and utterly private.

If you want make an inquiry, please send a message, and I will respond timely.
