Visit to 2 Wineries, testing included! Private guided tour
Driving 78 kilometers outside the city of Colonia del Sacramento, we will arrive to Carmelo. Around this city there are different wineries. In each one of them you will be able to know about the production of different varietes of white, rose and red wines. After that you will be able to taste our traditional Tannat (french grape that was brought to Uruguay and it adapted to our climate in a perfect way).
It is possible to taste other wines like Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Risling, Botrytis, etc.
Each winery is different from the others because each one of them has its own charm.
The Wineries we'll visit are: Legado & Cordano. Tasting included
If you are coming by ferry from Buenos Aires, you can take the first one in the morning, returning in the afternoon.

Fabian was waiting for us at the dock upon arrival from BA. After a short tour in Colonia, we left for Carmelo. On the way, we stopped at the bullring, walked around, went into the church. The first winery in Carmelo was lovely, charming. After touring the wine-making facilities, we ate bread, cheese, and local sausage under the shaded arbor. Then on to the next winery. Fabian speaks excellent English, is very knowledgeable about his country, its social structures, economy. Wonderful guide.
