In the wake of 2 important medieval trade centres Brussels and Ghent
I have worked in Brussels for several years, am born and raised in Ghent and would love to show you around in 2 of my favorite Belgian cities!
Everybody knows the emblem of Brussels; the small peeing boy. But Brussels is so much more than that. .
It is the center of European culture, officially nicknamed "the European village".
The Grand Place-central square- with its guild halls, is one of the most beautiful squares in Europe with Baroque, Gothic and Louis XIV architecture. The entire square is listed as World heritage by the UNESCO.
Brussels has so many points of interests to explore. . .
Ah Ghent. This amazing metropolis is the quintessential European city that should be on every one's itinerary.
Ghent is a happy confluence of contemporary European culture and medieval history set amid a city of academic achievement, gastronomic distinction and one-of-a-kind shopping.
You will be taken to world-recognized landmarks and the hidden corners of Ghent which are within walking distance. Ghent has a car-free historical center. Added to your historic tour will be ample opportunities to experience local tastes and culture. You will visit authentic shops and boutiques-both trendy and traditional. If you'd like, you can experience Ghent's music and art, its places of gastronomic repute and its beer pubs of longstanding excellence. your preferences will be customized for your tour.
Some of the sights in Gent:
the medieval port, the Belfry, the Cathedral that houses the famous painting 'the adoration of the Mystic Lamb' (the movie Monument's Men), the City hall, the medieval city center, . . .
