Piedra Herrada (Monarch Butterfly) and Valle de Bravo
Piedra Herrada Sanctuary is the newest spot opened for viewing the monarchs. This area is"wilder" than other sanctuaries and often provides a more remote nature experience. The butterflies arrive in November and remain largely inactive until undertaking the return trip north in mid- March.
Valle de Bravo this "pueblo magico" is a relaxing and wonderful spot outside Mexico city, enjoy the great Avandaro lake and have lunch with a great view.
Pick up time at 7 or 8 am, drive to the west of mexico City to get the State of Mexico around 3 hours to get to Piedra herrada to visit the Sanctuary the Monarch Butterfly to stay there around 3 hours and admire the butterflies, later on, drive 30 minutes to get to Valle de Bravo for lunch and a walk in the place spending there around 2 hours and drive back to Mexico City to drop you off back to your adress or hotel.
