The best photos take advantage of the Light

For Photographers, the Magic Hour is special. It's the hour just after sunrise, and the hour before sunset.
The angle is different, and the washed-out noonday sun has given away to more subtle hues, shadows, and detail. In Alaska, we are blessed with the fact the we're already at relatively high latitude, 60 North. Roughly equivalent to Stockholm, or N. Scotland. So, we already have pretty darn good light, compared to most places, due to our location.
But, it's best at Magic Hour.
Magic Hour is more than one hour, especially if you're willing to maneuver a bit for the great shot, that you always wanted, but things weren't right, you had other stuff to do.
I don't want anyone to get up at dawn, so this tour will depart around 3-4pm, depending on the date you're visiting Skagway. From mid-May to Mid-July, our days are very long, and some ships stay in pretty late. Let me know, and we can work it out. I published it as a 5 hour tour, but contact me if you'd like to customize your day. Thanks!

Itinerary

We begin in Skagway, and each tour will depend on the conditions of the day. If it looks to be a stellar sunset, we'll find a place for that. We have the option of staying closer to sea level, and going West from Skagway, along the shore, to Dyea, or up the Klondike Highway, to the spectacular landscape of the Sub-Alpine region, and. beyond, to the fringe of the Boreal forests of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory.
Short hikes are an option, if guests are interested. Sometimes, just a couple hundred yards from the road, it seems like a completely different world. Whatever you're up for, I'll do my best to make it happen.
I'm a professional photographer, and I did tours specifically for photographers for three years. I don't know everything, but I can take you to some great locations, help you improve, and get better results.
ALL CAMERAS ARE WELCOME. iPhones too, no problem. Contact me, we'll make it a great tour.
