Discover the French wines in Lyon with a sommelier
My name is Olivier and I will be more than happy to share my passion for wines.
During this private wine tasting, you will taste 5 different wines in a beautiful old cellar located in the heart of Lyon.
You will discover my selection from different vineyards surrounding Lyon such as Burgundy, The Beaujolais and The Rhône Valley.
Different terroirs, different grapes varietals and different wine making processes. . . . And many good reasons to complete your understanding of French wines.
For the experience to be perfect, I will pair my wines with a plate of demlights from Lyon.
So come and enjoy the party. . . Cheers
From the fruit forward reds of the Beaujolais to the full bodied Syrah of the Rhône valley, your palate and your nose will be exercised to distinguish the quintessence of the varietal, the winemaking process and the type of aging.
easy to drink and fresh, tannic and complexe, elegant and spicy, the words to describe wines are numerous and seem confusing at first sight but everyone can do it after a short efficient training and you will be happy to demistify what is behind the bottles.
I have been studying wines in Burgundy and in Paris for almost 5 years and more importantly I have been sharing this passions with travelers from all over the world. I am looking forward to meeting you.

Olivier was a very knowledgeable wine guide and easy to talk to. He brought maps and pictures to help explain the various wine regions and their physical topography. We also had an interesting discussion on how climate change and a growing awareness of the impacts of pesticide usage are changing the French wine industry. He brought bread, several different cheeses and some pastry to taste with the wine. I enjoyed the tasting and wine lesson very much!
