Private walking tour in the old suburbs : upper class, bureaucrate and popular districts
This private walking tour is perfect if you already visited the Old Quebec, inside the fortifications.
It's mostly about the three last centuries of Quebec-City : upper class and popular suburbs, Quebecer bureaucracy and gentrification. Surprisingly it's also about the very first years of the French in the area.
You'll be surrounded by Quebecers and not by foreign tourists, and that's probably the best part of this experience.
Some of the best restaurants and bars of the city will be on our itinerary or nearby, that's why I hope you'll stay outside the walls after the tour.
We'll start Upper Town and quickly leave the touristic area. Then we'll slowly go towards St. Roch district in order to go down and not up. We'll end the tour somewhere in St. Roch district or nearby.
The tour stays exclusively outside the walls, which mean we're not going to see any part of Old Quebec.
I don't have any itinerary set because I prefer to adapt it to your pace and interests.

Xavier was a great guide. He arrived on time, announced he was completely flexible and that we could change our tour at any time. Then he proceeded to give a knowledgeable discussion of Quebec City and some of its outlying areas. He was quite personable and delightful overall. I highly recommend him.
