Experience the adventure of crossing the second longest bridge, open fire vegan cooking and enjoy the delicious food

The 'Geierlay rope suspension bridge' is Germany's second-longest bridge of suchlike (360 m [1181 ft. ] long, 100 m [328 ft. ] high), connecting Moersdorf with Sosberg, located on the Hunsrueck heights, between the Rhine and Moselle Rivers, an approx. 50 min car ride from downtown Koblenz.

The hike leads through the incredible Hunsrueck landscape, passing through silent needle, beech, and oak woods and enchants with views of the Hunsrueck heights and the bridge from different angles. Then crossing the spectacular Geierlay rope suspension bridge and back to the starting point. From there we will take a short car ride to the fully equipped barbeque hut.

At the hut, you will be warmly welcomed with beverages and snacks before we prepare and cook our vegan food over an open fire together.

Restrictions:
Only physically fit people with no pronounced fear of heights
Sturdy footwear and hiking clothing is a requirement (rain gear, small backpack, hiking pants).

Itinerary

Start and end point of the hike is the visitor center parking lot in Moersdorf.
From there we hike a total of 6. 5 km (4 miles) with a cum. elevation gain of approx. 320 meters (990 ft. ) on pure nature and hiking trails.
The hike first leads through the town center, past the church and out into the woods. After reaching a number of scenic points, we descend into the valley.
Here our path crosses leg 19 of the "Saar-Hunsrueck-Steig" (long-distance trail, 410 km (254 miles)) and we follow the idyllic Bach (creek) valley and pass through underneath the bridge.
We then cross a small bridge, hike a little further and after an ascent we reach the Sosberg side entrance of the bridge.
The high light of the hike is to then cross the bridge and we complete the hike back to the visitor center.
After a short 15 minute car ride we reach the barbeque hut and welcome you with snacks and beverages. We then cook our vegan food (by prior arrangement) and enjoy eating by the open fire.
Water will be provided to take along.
