Discover the benefits of living in Medieval Ragusan Republic!

Why was Dubrovnik so successful and how did it maintain its autonomy, freedom and prosperity for such a long time? What was so different and so special in the small Republic that turned it into a powerful and important player on the vast European market trade? Take a walk with me and discover some of the things that make Dubrovnik completely unique; no matter where you are coming from, this tour will for sure awaken your curiosity!
Did you know that the first quarantine facility was founded in Dubrovnik, and how about the first orphanage. . . but enough with the questions, I'll leave that part to you. I'll be the one answering all your interests and providing you with many more astonishing facts about this unbelievably strong and resourceful State that survived through uncertain times thanks to its skilful diplomacy.
This tour not only covers the story from the city's beginnings but it also tells you about the ingenuity that took to maintain the peace and well fare of its residents through centuries.

On this walking tour we will get to see some of the most important monuments outside and within the City Walls such as:
the quarantine complex Lazareti,
the Old harbour,
the Rectors Palace,
the Onofrio's fountains,
Granary Rupe,
the location of the first orphanage and many others. . .
This tour can be customised entirely according to your wishes and schedule. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions about the tour or the sites that we will be visiting.

A Recent Review of this tour

Iris is everything you'd ever want in a guide: whip smart, conversational, insightful, fun and adventurous. She took us to many seldom-visited nooks and crannies and made the city come alive in ways both big and small. We highly enjoyed our time with her and recommend her with enthusiasm.
