Private Western Front Tour
Your tour will start from Arras (direct train from Paris or Lille). The morning will be dedicated to visiting the Northern Arras areas where would see the national Canadian Memorial on the Vimy Ridge. Here you will also be able to visit WW1 tunnel systems and trenches (be advised that this depends on Canadian DVA if there are any rare disruptions to visits. Should this happen, another option will be provided). Other sectors of interest in the area is Cabaret Rouge Cemetery where the unknown Canadian was taken back to Ottowa and the Largest German WW1 military cemetery in France.
Light lunch at an appropriate location and we head South to the Somme. Our first stop in the afternoon is Courcelette and ADANAC Cemetery where the Canadians sustained over 24, 000 men in casualty in the Battle of the Somme. Following through the afternoon we will visit the Newfoundland Memorial Park with its trenches and preserved battlefield and visit the massive Lochnagar Crater.
