Visit 3 of Norwich's Historic Brewery Taps
Norwich is in the centre of one of the best barley and malt producing areas in the world, so historically has some of the best breweries. Norwich has a rich history from its Saxon founding to becoming the second city in the UK during the medieval period. So as we travel you will learn about the rich history of Norwich between taps, via a Saxon Market place, Norman Castle and elegant Victorian train station.
On this tour you will be guided by your personal Beer Sommelier and International Beer Judge to 3 selected brewery taps, ending at The Fat Cat Brewery Tap (multi award wining tap and Norfolk's CAMRA pub of 2017 & 2018) for one of their famous cheese boards and a beer.
You will learn about the brewing process, how to taste, judge beer and I will be happy to answer any other questions. I will inform you about some of the other historic pubs in the city that you may wish to visit whilst here.
There is the possibility of a brewery tour at one of the taps, which can be organised on your behalf
We will start in the Victorian splendour of Norwich's train station before taking a short walk up the road to the Coach & Horses (Chalk Hill Brewery). Once we have completed our visit here we will head back to the train station to catch a bus to the city centre. Here you will have a view of the Castle and Norman Market.
We will take a short walk to St Andrews Brewhouse (while here I will be able to show you some of the brewing process via their glass view brewery). On leaving here our walk to Tombland (Saxon Market place) and the bus will take us pass Elm Hill (used in a number of films). We then travel on to the Fat Cat Brewery Tap where we will end our tour with a cheese board.
You will keep your Day bus pass so can then travel where you like, even to Gt Yarmouth.
It may be possible to arrange a tour of one of the breweries by the brewer (please see additional extras).
