Discover one of London's most vibrant and popular neighbourhoods
Camden was a poor suburb in the 1970s, and artists and musicians took advantage of the cheap rents to live, sell their wears from market stalls and play concerts. So the market grew and today Camden is the second place people visit after seeing the main sights in central London.
Camden Town is a famously colourful neighbourhood known for its music scene in the 60s (Stones, Bowie), 70s (Pink Floyd), 90s (Oasis, Blur, Radiohead) and present day (recently the home of tragic singer Amy Winehouse). I'll show you the history, the street art scene and the buzzing Camden Market.
We'll also walk through the surrounding neighbourhood. In London, you can turn a corner and the atmosphere completely changes. We'll walk through old streets rich in literary history (Charles Dickens lived here) and so pretty, they've featured in many feature films lately ('Paddington' for example).
The area gets so busy I'm unable to do this tour on the weekend. But if you're here on a weekday, I look forward to showing you around!
We'll meet at your hotel, or other agreed location in London.
