Walk through the history of Norwich in an hour
Norwich was the second city in the UK from the Norman Conquest to the Industrial Revolution. This means most of its rich Norman and Medieval architecture are within the boundaries of the city walls. Making for a perfect opportunity for me to introduce you to at least 10 of its most historic sites, from the Castle, the cathedral to the Art Nouveau Royal Arcade and much more.
With over 52 churches in the city where ever you stand you will be in site of 7 (although some are now hidden by modern buildings) I will point out some hidden gems as we walk and suggest places you may wish to visit at a more leisurely pace.
A perfect way to start your visit to this fine city
The tour is planned to start at the Norman Castle over looking the city, where I will point out some of the places we will visit.
We will then head toward the Cathedral and its environs before walking up Elm Hill, one of the most picturesque scenes in Norwich and used in many films.
From there we will continue to St Andrews Hall, up towards the Market place via the Guildhall. At the front of the Art Deco city hall we will then move forward in time to Millennium Plain.
The tour will take in the Art Nouveau Royal Arcade before we return to our starting point of Norwich Castle.
These are just the some of the highlights during this hour we will pass many more interesting places with lots of photo opportunities.
Additional time is available on request to explore further afield if requested

Our students thoroughly enjoyed their tour. It was very short notice and our guide was hugely accommodating and excellent value for money. We will definitely be booking for our next group.
