Hike the best section of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
The Inca trail to Machu Picchu is one of the most famous trekking routes in the world and even if you're short of time, you can still get a taste of what people rave about.
This hike gives you the opportunity to walk along the famous Inca trail, a gentle walk visiting beautiful places like wiñayhuayna and the sungate. Also visit one of the seven wonders of the world (Machu Picchu) twice.
4:00 am: Pick you up from your hotel and drive to ollantaytambo
6:10 am: Take a train to km 104 (beginning of the trek)
7:40 am: Arrive at km 104
8:00 am: Hike 3 hours uphill to Winayhuayna
11:00am: Visit Winayhuayna
12:00 pm: Time for the box lunch
13:00 pm: Hike to the sungate
15:00 pm: Arrive to Machu Picchu
16:00 pm: Take a bus to Aguas Calientes
17:00 pm: Checking at your hotel
19:00 pm: Dinner at Indio Feliz restaurant
We will wake up early in the morning in order to catch the sunrise at Machu Picchu. I will give you a two hour guided tour. After that, you will have time to explore Machu Picchu by yourself. When you are done exploring, you can either take a bus, or walk, down to Aguas Calientes for a free afternoon before your train which will depart later that afternoon back to Ollantaytambo and then we will drive you back to Cusco.
