Moon-like hiking on Mt Helgafell in the Reykjavik area.
Come and enjoy hiking on Mt Helgafell, the sacred town mountain of Hafnarfjörður. We start the hiking from the parking walking for 15-20 minutes through moon-like landscape all the way to the mountain and then we start hiking up the mountain. The hike is steep at times. On top of the mountain we walk around and sign the guest book before we head down again.
Mt Helgafell is situated on the boundaries of the two tectonic plates, Nort-American and Eurasian tectonic plates which drift apart in Iceland. Optional to join the Blue Lagoon at extra price after the hike. The hike is also ideal as a combination of two tours, e. g. city sightseeing or Untamed Nature tour.

We pick you up at your hotel at around 9am or at other times if you want to. The area and mountain are interesting and a short ride from Reykjavik. The walk over lava fields provides unique scenery. One note of caution, however, and that is the hike may be very easy for seasoned hikers, but for casual tourists I would rate it as moderate in difficulty as the mountain climb is somewhat steep.
