Nine hours on one tour is a long time with a single guide/driver, but Alain was great. He didn't give lectures. He engaged us in conversations in which he shared his deep knowledge and love of French history, culture, arts, wine, politics, etc. We appreciated his flexibility. When we expressed interest in a place not on the tour, he offered to switch up the plan and we headed off to a destination that was of greater interest to us. It was a delight to spend a day with him.
