A journey to our province's popular North Shore plus Historic Charlottetown.
We start in Charlottetown and I explain why it is called the "Birthplace of Confederation". On our way out of the city, I will share some PEI history and what makes our way of life unique. We travel through rolling farmlands, stunning seascapes, villages of well-kept homes and the sea at the North Shore area.
We make brief photo stops where PEI mussels and Malpeque oysters are grown and harvested, the quaint Acadian lobster fishing village of North Rustico, a lighthouse, and the iconic Cavendish Beach overlook. Tour Green Gables House National Historic Site, the inspirational setting for L. M. Montgomery's first world-famous 1908 novel, "Anne of Green Gables".
Before returning to Charlottetown, the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company awaits with samples of their products made on-site, located in a beautiful setting. Admission to the PEI National Park is included in the tour; Green Gables House Historic site is extra. A lunch stop is optional and reservations are not required.
