This tour consist in a marvelous walk around the ancient roman city of Pompeii that has been buried from the ashes of the volcano Vesuvius in 79 a. D. I know, two hours are not enough to see the entire city, but believe me, I'll be able to show you most of the highlights!
A walk in Pompeii is a very intense experience; you'll have the feeling of wandering in a still alive town. I will explain you the history of the town and how the romans lived showing you all the most important public buildings and private houses.
The Unesco Committee decided to inscribe Pompeii and Herculaneum and their associated villas in the list of World Heritage Patrimony because they provide a "complete and vivid picture of society and daily life at a specific moment in the past that is without parallel anywhere in the world".
This tour of Pompeii lasting two hours allows seeing in detail the western part of the ancient town where the most important public buildings homes and shops are located.
Highlights: the Marina Gate, the Basilica (court house), the Forum (main square), the Forum baths, the Lupanar (brothel), the bakery, the house of Faun, the Termopolium Capuano, the house of Tragic Poet, the plaster casts.

Emiliano is a true gentleman and a knowledgeable guide. He shares his love of Pompeii and his interest in it's history with enthusiasm and great detail. In our very brief time he gave us a thorough look at the "how, when, where, and why?" of this amazing excavation. He took time to answer all of our questions and has an obvious love of his subject matter - top knot guide! Fascinating tour!! .
