Marco B.

Perugia, pg, Italy

Love what you do and do what you love! This is the motto I have always followed in my life and I love being a guide, talking about art, history, traditions as well as gastronomy of my beloved Umbria, the region where I was born.

Umbria's spirituality expressed through the words of Saint Francis as well as the beauty of this region's landscape still strikes me.
There is no doubt that every city from Assisi to Orvieto, from Perugia to Gubbio and Spoleto as well as smaller hamlets still fascinate me and I always try to pass over these feelings of mine to the guests who come to Umbria, the region I've been a licensed guide for since 1997.
My studying of Humanities, being a professional interpreter for both English and German as well as my corses of art-history, history and political science enable me to better understand some of the cultural aspects of this region and to show in depth, but far from being boring, the artistic and cultural treasures of Umbria to my guests

A Recent Review of this guide

Marco is an excellent guide and Assisi is an amazing place. Marco is very passionate about the city and what he is showing you. The tour is set to go downhill which made is much easier for us to walk. He showed us great picture spots and gave us enough history so we knew what he was showing us . He was easy to talk to and readily answered questions. He showed us many things I would not even know to ask about . I would recommend him to anyone who wants to know what the real Assisi is all about.

David and Miranda Lind:
"We have traveled globally and have hired many professional guides, however Marco stands heads and shoulders above all the rest. He is undoubtedly the finest guide we have ever had the privilege to enjoy. He is an expert scholar who combines deep subject knowledge of the social, political, cultural and religious history of Umbria in its context with Italy and the world. He brings the history to life with his dramatic flair. Marco has excellent command of the English language, truly enjoys being with his guests, is fun loving and a true host ambassador for Umbria. He has introduced us to many aspects of the region beyond its history. Marco has been our guide on five occasions and have recommended him to all of our friends. We strongly urge you to add Marco Bellanca to your roster of guides for Umbria. Sincerely."
