A travel back in the middle ages
In France there is an independent association, that aims to promote small and picturesque French villages of quality heritage. As of 2015, 155 villages in France have been labelled as the "Plus Beaux Villages de France" (meaning "the most beautiful villages of France").
Pérouges, located 40 km (24 miles) away from Lyon is one of them. The more medieval village you have ever visited (this is were the "three musketeers" was filmed ! ). It is really authentic and away from the 21st century : pretty cobbled streets, fortress-church, medieval and Renaissance houses, city-wall and craftsmen will charm you.
It is a small village but you can spend an hour there.
This visit last about 1 hour, and includes a tasting of two local specialties : the "galette" and the local sparkling wine.
9 am : meeting in Lyon with your guide and departure to Perouges (with a private driver or your own car).
10 am : arrival to Perouges.
10 am - 11:30 am : guided tour (the church, the gates, the winding streets, the history) and tasting in Perouges.
11:30 - 12:15 : Return to Lyon.
