Paris, Île de France, France

I'm a native french man who lives in Paris for 15 years now. I'm a crazy reader of everything relative to Paris and its history.
I'm spending hours and days walking the streets and the monuments of the city.
To become an expert of Paris is one of my aim in life. That's why I have so many anecdotes knocking the door of my mind and eager to be talked to any friendly ears. Indeed, I love to share my knowledge and passion for this protean City.

Graduate in History, I have been working for 5 years as a history and geography teacher in high school. I'm now a full-time professional tourist guide able to speak English and Spanish.
I have been guiding for a few years for the RMN: Réunion des Musées Nationaux (most famous official institution which runs about 30 museums in Paris such as The Louvre). I'm now a totally independent tourist guide, running my own self-touring company.

First of all, as a Parisian lover, I can guide you OUTSIDE providing you with WALKING and CYCLING TOURS in more than 20 districts of Paris: from central, high-ranked ones to unexpected peripheric others.
As a licensed Guide-conférencier (lecturer-guide), I'm allowed to guide you INSIDE dozens of museums (The Louvre, Orsay), churches (Notre Dame) or palaces (Versailles) or any monuments of Paris and its surroundings.
As a driver (with insurance and license issued by the French government required to transport you). I can provide half-day to one-week TRANSPORTATION in a safe and comfortable 8 seater van (Mercedes Class V ). I will be happy to tailor, especially for you, a perfect itinerary through the FRENCH COUNTRYSIDE.
I can drive and guide you in Normandy, Britany, Champagne, the Loire Valley, Burgundy, Dordogne, Bordeaux or the French Riviera including highlights but also unexpected villages, gardens, rivers, restaurants, wineries, monasteries, spots for sports or anything close to our steps. . .
All kind of experience that makes the French "art de Vivre" visible, understandable, drinkable and edible!

Flexible, I will be happy to help you maximize your time during your stay. All the tours can be tailor-made at your convenience. So do not hesitate to ask! I can adjust the tour duration, the meeting point, or anything else. I will be happy to provide you with personal tips for a good café-crème, a crusty croissant, a 5 stars macaron from Pierre Hermé, weird boiled frog thigs, a smoothy foie gras, smelly cheeses like camembert, a hot soup à l'oignon. . Just ask me!

Looking forward to meeting you in Paris or anywhere else in France to escort you. Have a pleasant day!

PS: During the high season, it's better to verify my availability asking me by mail before booking.

A Recent Review of this guide

Romain was a delightful guide, full of interesting facts and was so willing to customer our tour in order to spend more time seeing and doing the things we most wanted to do. He surprised us several times by stopping at a few places we weren't expecting. When the tour was over our daughters were sad to see Romain leave. They felt so comfortable with him, said he was a safe driver, and thought he was very personable. Everyone should have an opportunity to visit Paris with Romain!
