Aphrodisias Ancient City en route to Pamukkale
Slopes of Mt. Babadag was a great source for high quality marble.
When this fact is added to a lush farmland irrigated by River Menderes, there wouldn't be a better spot to found an Ancient City with an Academy for the Sculptor's.
Since the Ancient city was used by the locals until recent times, it still feels like a local village rather than a tourist site.
Get ready to see the best preserved Stadium of Turkey where the chariot races, and gladiatorial games took place.
Bearing the name of the Goddess of aesthetic, beauty and love, the city houses a grand size temple for Aphrodite ( Venus).
To visit Aphrodisias Ancient city we need to take a detour and drive a bit to south from our original route which goes straight from West to East.
But this detour is definitely worth-taking cause it will take you a place feels almost like you are in the middle of nowhere but yet to see one of the most exquisite collection of Roman Statuary and architecture.
After a 2, 5 hour of drive from Kusadasi, we will reach to the town of Geyre for visiting Aphrodisias ancient City.
The Highlights of the Ancient City are the Tetrapylon, The Satidum, The Theater, Two Market Places, the Baths of Hadrian and the Indoor Museum.
After visiting the Aphrodisias Ancient city, we'll stop for our lunch spot nearby the Ancient Ruins and then drive to Pamukkale for another hour and a half.
We will visit the Pamukkale Travertines for 30 minutes and see the Hieropolis Theater before we head back to Kusadasi.

Our small group enjoyed a two day tour in Turkey, with Tugrul as our guide, and it was wonderful. Tugrul is enthusiastic about his profession, a great driver, and dedicated to meeting the needs of his clients. He is very knowledgeable about the historical details related to all of the main attractions, and knows the best cafes, and break spots. I highly recommend Tugrul with a five star rating. Well done; it was a great trip!
