Villa Barbaro and Villa Emo, Asolo
Enjoy the culture of the Venetian villas at Villa Barbaro, discover the art of Palladio and the frescoes by Paolo Veronese. The villa also produces an excellent local Prosecco wine (wine and food tasting are available upon request).
Villa Emo is a haven of peace and a wonderful example of the stylish and efficient Renaissance country houses of the Venice mainland.
We will also enjoy a stopover in Asolo, which is a jewel of a small town, where the former queen of Cyprus used to welcome the most important Renaissance artists and poets.

Francesa guided through Vincenza and we visited a number of building designed by Andreas Palladio. She began the tour in the city with an excellent discussion of how Palladio developed and we visited his early and late buildings. The next day day we visited a number of country villas. Francesca was knowledgeable and very pleasant. Her descriptions were detailed and informative. We left the region with an understanding and great appreciation of the architect.
