Discover the fascinating Kalsa district with a local professional guide.
One of the most suggestive districts of Palermo is "La Kalsa" where we find The "Palazzo Steri" which was one the seat of the Spanish Inquisition . Inside it is possible to visit the ancient prison where prisoners accused of heresy left behind inscriptions on the walls in the form of prayers and political statements. Furthermore there is an interesting section of the prison where the women accused of being witches were kept.
The visit continues with a tour of La Kalsa, which contains some beautiful architectural jewels. Here we can visit the church of Santa Maria dello Spasimo which was hidden from the public for many years.
The last visit will be dedicated to the magnificent Palazzo Mirto, once belonged to Filangeri di Mirto princes
