Arab-Norman Unesco World Heritage
We will drive to Monreale and the see the beautiful Arab-Norman Cathedral.
Inside you will the wonderful Byzantine mosaics of the old and new testament.
Then we will drive to Cefalù where you can see another Arab-Norman Cathedral and the medieval town. It is also one of the largest seaside resorts in the entire region.
Both Cathedrals are part of the Arab-Norman World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
We drive to the south side of the city, on Monte Caputo about 400 meters above sea level, in a very panoramic position, we arrive and visit Monreale.
It was born with the Normans around the eleventh century. An ancient Arab village, Balharā, stood outside the Norman city. located on the slopes of Mount Caputo at 310 m above sea level.
After we drive to Cefalù, which is located on the northern Sicilian coast, about 70 km from Palermo, at the foot of a rocky promontory. It is one of the largest seaside resorts in the entire region.
We will visit the city and then back to the starting point.
