Experience two of our most famous highlights by car
We meet in the city center and drive with our private car to the most modern Skijump in the world. After walking through the Norwegian skihistory and -tradition in the Skimuseum, we take the lift to the top to enjoy the best view of Oslo (if the weater is fine)
On our way down to the city again, we have a stop for a walk through the Vigeland sculpture park. This is another very popular tourist attraction - not a long walk (less than 1km) - passing almost 200 sculptures made of granite or bronze. Among them you'll see the very famous "Angry little boy"
We continue through a beautiful neighboorhood, before our driver drops us off close to the Royal Palace. The last part of the tour is a guided walk along our main street, Karl Johan, passing the most important buildings there. I'll take you through the history of Oslo and Norway, and give you a picture of the old days compared to now
At Holmenkollen: In the summertime it's possible to buy an extra ticket to the zip-line at the top of the skijump, hook yourself on the cable and fly down some 361 meters to feel how it is to Skijump ;-) A less expensive (and frightening?) alternative is to try the ski simulator at the bottom of the Skijump, where you'll also experience downhill skiing at high speed. A nice and typical Norwegian snack at the cafe close to the souvenir shop is "Lefse" - a kind of a sweet bread - of waffles with our famous brown goat cheese
At the Vigeland park: Feel the child within yourself and climb the sculputures - it's allowed and for free everywhere! Take pictures and enjoy; touch the granite and be surprised that the surface feels like silk. .
During the city walk you'll see at least the following important buildings:
- the Royal Palace
- the National theatre, the University of Oslo and the Norwegian Parliament
- the City hall, where the Nobel Peace Prize is handed out every year
