Discover 19thc French art through portraits plus the building that inspired Jefferson
What better way to discover the art and history of 19th century Paris than through the people who made it? I am a professional portrait painter myself and love to share my passion for portraits by a discovery tour of this iconic museum.
From Academism, Realism, Symbolism, Orientalism to, of course, the Impressionists and their illustrious successors, Gaugin and Van Gogh we will see the faces that made their century.
If you book a start time after 11am, at the end we can go inside the beautiful Hotel de Salm, the building that inspired Jefferson to build Montecello (open 1pm-6pm Wednesdays to Sundays) Its dazzling collection of decorations from all over the world goes back centuries.
Please note that Orsay is closed on Mondays.
