I have always been an outdoors person enjoying walking canoeing and trips on our narrow-boat. My working life has always involved people, firstly as a nurse for people with learning difficulties, followed by a Youth worker.
Afterward, I became a self-employed social photographer, doing weddings, schools, and portraits. Moving to Orkney has reignited my love for rope work and knot tying and I spend quite a lot of time collecting washed-up fishing rope which I then turn into door mats.
I'm generally an enthusiastic person, still keen to learn, and eager to show others the things on offer here, my delight is when I tell someone something that they didn't know they wanted to know! I like to think I take a relaxed and informal approach to guiding, with the flexibility to change and adapt tours to get the most out of your Orkney experience.
I am a Green Badge Tourist Guide for Orkney, issued by The Scottish Tour Guides Assoc.
