Walk through the center of the city and see the cathedral, other churches, palaces and beautiful old buildings, bridges, etc..
We start our day with a canal cruise of about 70 minutes. Then we will visit the Munster cathedral and the astronomical clock. We walk along the city hall, the Rhin palace, military buildings and other famous villas like the Rohan palace in the city. You will see a number of catholic and protestant churches, like the St. Pierre le Vieux and the Eglise St. Thomas.
Along the way we will enjoy a lunch.
We end our tour walking over the "covered bridges" and look at the old houses and shops in la Petite France.
The total walking distance is about 5, 3 km or 3, 3 miles.
Boat tour followed by walk through historical centre of Strasbourg starting and ending at the Munster cathedral.
We will pass the Lalique and Baccarat shops and discuss glass and cristal. Then we will pass by the old Hotel de Ville from Strasbourg. Military presencence has always been in Strasbourg. We will see the Palais de Gouvernor and a little further the officers mess on Place Broglie. On this square jousting games were held. First though you will see the Ungerer museum and the Nantional theatre. In a little distance we will see the city library with its beuatiful glass dome. Of course we will pass the emperial palais of Willem II.
We will pass the Opera a little further. Mozart among many other famous people has performed here.
You will visit both the St Pierre Lejeune and St Pierre Levieux churches. Interesting how protestants and catholics sometimes shared spaces here.
Crossing Place Kleber we will turn into the direction of the old Petite France area and then walk back to the cathedral.
