Kid Friendly: Yes. Kids usually love anything to do with ancient heros, giants and greek gods, so this tour will keep them happy !
We will also be spending time in one of the most beautiful gardens in Italy, full of surprises !
The Boboli gardens aren't wheel chair friendly. Due to the loose gravel on the ground and steep hills to negotiate. But I have taken a lady in a wheel chair around Boboli. She had 3 very fit and able family members to help her .

Lear about the Medici and their claim to eternal fame
This tour centres on the icons of the Ancient Greek and Roman period that inspired the Florentine Renaissance. Piazza Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio are bursting with statues, paintings and frescoes of classical gods, heroes and philosophers, boastful allegories chosen by the Medici family to represent themselves as the supremely legitimate rulers of the great Duchy of Tuscany. World famous masterpieces, many of which grace the open air museum of the Loggia dei Lanzi and the hero of all heroes, Michelangelo's David guarding the main entrance to Palazzo Vecchio.
Inside Duke Cosimo's palace you can admire ceilings and walls decorated with allegorical themes praising the supremacy of the Medici dynasty; of particular interest is the intimate space of Francesco I's studiolo, a "treasure chest" decorated with Greek gods and goddesses.
Next, a leisurely walk around the Boboli Gardens at Palazzo Pitti will reveal Ancient Roman statues, fountains crowned with sea gods and grottoes hiding mythological creatures.
