When you're loooking for an alternative private tour with a local storyteller
Not that interested in churches and museums?
Or have you been to Copenhagen before?
Or perhaps you just like to do something completely different than everybody else. . .
Then this tour is for you!
I will take you to the city district where I live - the most densely populated part of Copenhagen. The many inhabitants ensures plenty of cafés, fun things to look at, and also that this is a really good place to get an understanding of the Copenhageners.
Still, even though it's busy with people bicycling, working, playing, this area has some completely tranquil and magical places. So this is also a tour with a nice rhythm - you get the big city pulse and all the hipsters but you also get quiet time and lots of greens.
This tour can work on its own or as an add-on to my other tours. It can be shortened or lengthened. It could be done on bicycles. It can be real slow. We will make it fit you perfectly.
Please check my availability; if I am free I would very much like to design this tour for your group!
The bridge over the lakes is like a portal. When you cross that bridge, you move from Copenhagen proper into a different, more mixed Copenhagen.
We will visit some back yards to spy a bit on how people live around here.
I will show you a kindergarten, a school, a sports arena. Not (only) because this is a social tour but because they are examples of how things are done quite differently here, especially contemporary architecture.
On our way, we will pass through a gargantuan cemetery where quite a few famous Danes are resting - Hans Christian Andersen, Soren Kierkegaard and Niels Bohr, to name a few.
The coolest street in the neighbourhood has a unique shop or restaurant in every doorway and we will linger here for a while, touching and tasting.
On our way back to central Copenhagen, we will visit Superkilen, a huge public square in bold colours, designed with the help of the about 60 different nationalities living around it.

If you are looking for something authentic and a little off the beaten path, this is the tour for you. It was a definite highlight of our trip and one of the activities that we are still talking about. Everyone in our group (from young teen to middle age) had a blast. We did the tour on bikes and it was a fantastic way to get a sense of the daily life in Copenhagen. Sofie was interesting, flexible, knowledgable and fun. This was a really special way to experience and gain insight into this beautiful city.
