Visit of the glass factory to see the production & the Glass museum
Meeting in Venice we will go by boat to the Murano island.
For centuries Murano masters have been at the cutting edge for advanced research and the design & experimentation with form in glass. This tour will take in the various techniques used and will look at the imposing new styles & fashions in interior decoration.
The glass industry of Venice started in C9th but was placed on Murano in the late C13th, partly to protect the city against fire but more so to guard its secrets from what we would now call industrial espionage.
We will visit the Glass Museum and a glass factory to see a short demonstration of a master glassblower at work.
We will meet in Venice and we will reach the Murano island.

Minu took us to Murano which was a very nice experience to see glass blowing. The demonstration she arranged was rather short and not very sophisticated, but we did see the actual process. I wish it was a little more detailed for the money we spent on the tour.
