A detailed Dachau Memorial tour along with many little known sites in and around Dachau Town.
Unlike other Dachau tours, which are a 3hour tour or so of the Memorial site, which understandably is the initial main point of interest and reflection, this tour goes into far greater detail. A tour for the WW2 history buff.
This tour covers the whole Dachau Area from the WW2 perspective.
We will undertake a detailed tour of the Dachau Memorial site. You will also see areas that 99. 9% of the Dachau visitors do not see. Dachau Old town where I will point out the site of the Dachau uprising , the cafe where the SS used to meet the local girls and so on.
Also in the area is the largely forgotten mass gave on the edge of town, SS firing ranges and we talk about how the two US divisions entered the area in 1945 and so on.
This is the most comprehensive WW2 Dachau tour available by one of the longer standing Dachau guides.
You will be met at your hotel reception. We use the excellent public transport to get to and from Dachau and in the afternoon we will walk the Dachau area.
Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial and many sites with a WW2 connection in the surrounding area.

It is hard to describe the emotions of the tour. Intertwined with the horror and history of the camp, Stephen showed us the town of Dachau which really added to the trip. We also were able to see the cemetery of the unknown victims which is out of the way, though definitely worth the walk.
