Yuta K.

Koyasan, Wakayama prefecture, Japan

Hi, I'm Yuta. I spent eight years as a monk at a temple in Mount Koya.

I studied Buddhist teachings directly from a Buddhist priest of Mount Koya and I have also finished a training to become Buddhist monk. I am qualified for interpreting guide specialized in Mount Koya and Kumano area.

Mount Koya is a sacred place of Buddhism, teachings of Buddhism are ubiquitous here and there. However, many of the visitors came home without knowing the teachings. So, if you come to Mount Koya, let 's learn "esoteric teachings" through the conversation with the priests, that Kukai (the best genius in Japanese history) left behind.

From the viewpoint of the monk, I will talk about "Teachings that will support your mind for the rest of your life" and "Daily life and monk training in a temple that a general public can not see".
My tour includes not only viewing the building but also the experience of meditation and sutra writing.
Also, monks will teach you how to offer prayers in Japan.

My tours are flexible and can be customized. I would be glad to be your guide.

I am looking forward to seeing you here in Mount Koya!
