Historic Guide Tour of Old Montreal, any time of the year
Historic and visual visit to discover the history of the city since Jacques Cartier's arrival on the island of Montreal, in 1535, until today. We will walk the old streets and I will tell you about the life of yesterday and today in the Old Montreal and the Old Port. Architectural details will make us travel in the time of New France, from its foundation in 1642 to its wars and colonial revolutions, including a short period of Montreal as an American city, and finally the arrival of the English and the Scots who made it a very prosperous city. We will also see how Montreal became, as of 1850, the cradle of the industrialization in Canada and the metropolis of the country until the end of the 1960s. Saint-Jacques Street, with its Classical and Victorian buildings, testimony of the Canadian Golden Age, and the must-see Old Montreal sector will help us understand the birth and the heart of a city.
During the visit we could see:
Champs de Mars
Place D'armes (Notre-Dame Basilica plus 6$/pers. entrance fee)
