Umbrian vineyards

After your busy days in Rome or Florence, you might want to enjoy a leisurely day in the country of Saint Francis. After a walking tour in Spoleto, a leisurely drive takes you to across the Sagrantino vineyards to discover Castelbuono, a wine cellar built like an artwork by Giò Pomodoro. We spend the afternoon strolling through the quiet alleyways of Montefalco and Bevagna, visiting some of the oldest romanesque churches of Italy.

Our itinerary is circular: after a walking tour in Spoleto (about two hours) and a light lunch, we drive to Montefalco (20 miles) for a brief stop and on to Bevagna (10 miles), visiting one or several winefarms.
