8 hours sightseeing tour
Explore the south west of Mauritius: this part of the island has the most beautiful areas of the whole country!
Start with a visit to the Ship model Factory and learn how they assemble a ship, while locals show you how small parts are fixed on the model, all by hand.
Continue to Curepipe and visit the Crater "Trou aux cerf", then stop at Black River Gorge viewpoint for breathtaking views of the park and the waterfalls. Our next stop is Grand Bassin, the sacred lake with a Hindu temple. The lake rests in the crater of an extinct volcano. It is said that the water inside the lake communicates with the waters of the holy Ganges of India.
Finish your tour with a stop at "The Seven Coloured Earth" a curious geological formation of sand dunes comprising sand of seven distinct colours that creates a surrealistic, striped colouring.
This is definitely one of the must tours to go to when visiting Mauritius!

Jessica was a very good guide with a competent and safe driver. She was knowledgeable about Mauritius but was slow to share her knowledge spontaneously. We had an interesting tour around the south west part of the island and had an very tasty meal at a restaurant recommended by Jessica. She did an excellent job at tailoring the tour to suit my use of a wheelchair.
