Fourvière hill and old Lyon districts with a private guide
A 3-hour tour for good walkers!
This tour will be a good introduction to the city's history from the Roman times to the Renaissance.
We will start with a breathtaking view over the city from the top of Fourviere hill, then we will have a look at the stunning basilica Notre-Dame and we will pass through the impressive Roman theatres.
After that, we will walk down the hill through a picturesque street off the beaten track. And from that moment, we will be in the old town where you will be charmed by the little courtyards inside the old buildings, the secret passageways, the colors, the good smell of food at noon, the craftsmen at work. . .
And if it is not a Monday or Sunday, we will stop in an authentic silk workshop to discover how the silk is traditionaly still woven in Lyon. . .

The tour starts in front of Fourvière basilica (Church on the top of the hill).
We will be heading to the Roman theatres and going down the hill through a typical street from the middle ages.
Then will walk in the old town : Saint-Georges, Saint-Jean and Saint-Paul's districts.
We will finish on "quai Saint Vincent", in front of a famous mural of Lyonnais.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: We will meet in front of the Fourviere basilica, it is better to start the tour.
To go there, take the funicular from "metro Vieux-Lyon" or walk up there through the "jardins du Rosaire" in the old town.
End location: We will end the tour near Saint-Paul's train station.
Duration: 3 hours
Funicular to reach the meeting point with the guide. Then only walking tour.
The guide service for 3 hours only is included and the entrance to a silk workshop (except monday and sunday).
