A few years ago I moved from Poland to Lviv and re-discovered its multinational heritage.
Now Lviv is my home but sometimes, but when needed I can keep a healthy distance while looking at the town now and its past. I can pick for you some of hidden sides of Lviv that are hard to notice for tourists and. . . typical guides. If you want to know what's everyday life in Ukraine, what are current Polish-Jewish-Ukrainian relations and what should be changed here — stay in touch with me.
My offer on ToursByLocals is related mostly to my academic experience. I can take you to the old Jewish quarters in Lviv, some nearby shtetl in Galicia or to the local historical archive. During years of my activity I've helped many to discover their Jewish and/or Ukrainian roots and reconnect them with their families.
I'm quite a busy person (with guiding and researching), so please consult with me my availability before booking a tour. Prices of my tours are provided in the tour descriptions. Please, don't inquiry me just about the tour prices unless you have special requests. I do not provide general, "introductory" tours to Lviv.
A Recent Review of this guide
Tomasz enabled connections with my family history I could never have made alone. His skills are to engage with a range of people to draw out local knowledge, "village memory". His fluency in languages, his skills in interpretation and his willingness to take my search to heart ensured the success of the trip. He also digitally recorded a number of valuable documents which I now have in my safekeeping. I not only discovered my ancestors' past but was privileged to experience Ukrainian rural culture today.
