Cute/calm sailng community Chester, Magnificent Mahone Bay, Lure of Lunenburg

A very scenic small town tour with numerous photo and coastal viewing opportunities, you will soon see why this area is well known with summer vacation residents and those who live here "really" just could not stay away.
Our first stop will be Chester, a sailing community that has the east coasts largest sailing regatta each year and is home to prominent residents.
Next we follow the coastal road talking about the famous Oak Is and to Mahone Bay where the only sky scrapers are the three waterfront churches.
We drive on to Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Town which is home port to several tall ships and work is underway to revitalize the historic working waterfront from the days of sail. Wooden boats are still being built and designed in town, we might be lucky enough to meet a craftsman or a tall ship sailor if they are not sailing.
We tour the town and can visit the popular Fisheries Museum and learn of the fisheries or Rum Running or perhaps join Lunenburg Walking Tours for an in-depth tour of the town

Itinerary

The delightful Village of Chester, settled Untied Empire Loyalists,
The beautiful town of Mahone Bay, where the sky scrapers are the church steeples that grace the towns waterfront.

The UNESCO town of Lunenburg was settled by foreign protestants I 1753, the historic working waterfront, Ironworks Distillery (voted worlds best dark rum). Fisheries Museum in Lunenburg (additional fee will apply), Tall Ships (when in Port) including the famous Bluenose.

A Recent Review of this tour

Our day tour with Greg was one of the highlights of our trip. Greg tailored the tour to our interests and included sites & experiences we would not have had touring on our own. We appreciated his in-depth knowledge, comfortable van, and friendly, easy going personality. Thanks for a great tour Greg!
